Less than a year after her last MMA fight, Ronda Rousey is an UFC Hall of Famer. The organization announced the current WWE superstar will be inducted into their Hall of Fame next month.
Is this Ronda Rousey’s goodbye?
Ronda Rousey being inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame became official over the weekend during the UFC 225 broadcast. We all knew the call would come sooner or later. But just not this soon after Rousey left the octagon. There was always hope, I guess that she’d return for one more fight.
Is she done? Yes. She’s gone, and she’s not coming back. Let her induction July 5th be your final goodbye to the first ever Women’s UFC Champion. She’s well deserving of the honour. The most dominate UFC women’s bantanweight champions. Mixed Martial Arts is better than she found it. And along the way, she broke more arms than a well regulated militia.
It’s a fact that her last act was a tough one. Few fighters have risen as high only to fall of so fast. Rousey won 12 fights in a row to start her UFC career. Then she lost. Then she lost again. And then she was gone to WWE.
But did she really need victories after all she did for the sport?
Ronda Rousey is set to be in her first one-on-one match Sunday against WWE Raw Women’s Champion, Nia Jax. Rumoured to be a very quick showdown, it’s expected that Rousey will come out victorious to gain her first WWE championship title.
