Wrestlemania 34 Predictions

WWE’s Super Bowl goes down Sunday. It’s Wrestlemania 34. The grandest stage of them all has been set. It’s the most stacked card in recent Mania history and here are my predictions.

John Cena vs The Undertaker

Yes, it is going to happen. Yes, The Undertaker will show up and will compete in what could be his last match. This has been the most interesting build for a Mania match. I can’t remember a time when a match was built around someone that never showed up on television. It is thought that with the star studded card Mania 34 is, WWE didn’t really need to hype a Taker/Cena much.

They didn’t need it for buys. Either way, it’s a dream match that will go happen. But who wins? If it’s Taker’s last match, the old school way of thinking is to have Cena go over. However, they might want Taker stand tall on his last night. Will it be the American Badass taking the last bow? That’s the rumour. The most intriguing part of this whole thing is how will they book the match to happen? Cena calls out Taker one last time, lights go out. Taker is in the ring and then a ref rushes to the ring to officiate the once in a lifetime show down? So many questions, so much intrigue.

Winner: The Undertaker

Universal Champion Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns

This one is basically set in stone. They are playing it off on television that Brock is undecided on if he’s going back to UFC. But he’s gone. This was supposed to happen a couple years ago, but Brock resigned, and WWE got cold feet on putting the title on Roman, so they decided to put it on Seth Rollins instead. I’m excited for this one, because it will be a brawl and should be interesting to see what type of mess these two can create. It is believed this will be the main event for the evening. Vince wanting Roman holding the belt high, as they go off the air.

Winner: Roman Reigns

WWE Champion AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

While fans are upset with the build to this match, I have really enjoyed it. Just two superstars that have mutual respect for one another. They both want the gold and they’re fighting for it. That’s it. That’s all they need. Just like the Brock/Roman match, Shinsuke’s win has been planned since Rumble – or maybe even before then. The two will put on a clinic and should spark a rematch down the line.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

Kurt Angle & Ronda Rousey vs. Triple H & Stephanie McMahon

Rowdy Ronda having her first match at Mania is the biggest draw. Maybe even more than Daniel Bryan’s return to the ring. But is she ready? The last few weeks on TV, Ronda’s timing has been off, and it’s apparent she still has ring rust.  This tag match should do well, however with her just coming in for the finish. Hunter and Kurt will work most of  the match. Rousey and Kurt must win. I was thinking last night how if done right, this could be the Stone Cold/Vince feud for the modern era. However, it’s rebel Rousey defying authoritarian Stephanie. That’s money.

Winners: Kurt Angle & Ronda Rousey

Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn

This is the other one majority of the eyeballs are tuning in for. What a remarkable story. Daniel returning home. Returning to the ring on the grandest stage of them all. If it was under any other circumstance, I would call a heel turn here, but I really can’t see Bryan turning heel with the babyface reaction he’ll be getting Sunday. He’ll be the biggest babyface in the place. You’d think that Owens and Zayne need to win this to remain on Smackdown, but have Bryan lose his return match? Can’t see that happening. Expect something to go down where Bryan and Shane get the win, but the heels slime their way back on the Smackdown Live.

Winners: Daniel Bryan & Shane McMahon

The other matches

This ‘Mania card is stacked from top to bottom. Asuka should get the win in her match against Charlotte Flair. Possibly a swerve where Carmella cashes in on the winner of the Bliss and Jax match. After failing a few times, Carmella might change her course of action and go for the Raw Women’s championship.  The Women’s Battle Royal has potential of being really good. I see it going to Bayley, with her program with Banks continuing.

Who will be Braun Strowman’s partner? I say Bray Wyatt. I say we see new tag champions, bringing down The Bar.

As much as I like Bobby Roode, it’s Rusev’s day. He’ll take the US Championship.

The Bludgeon Brothers are straight up monsters. They’ll take the Tag championships. How long will the match be? Under ten minutes, predominantly consisting of the Brothers beating down their adversaries.

On the 204 LIve side of things, Ali going over and becoming the WWE Cruiserweight Championship in the tournament finals. If you haven’t seen Ali’s finish yet, check it out. Mindblowing. The most impressive finisher in the company right now.
