#SPINTHIS: Mick Jenkins, Noname, Frank Ocean and Apathy

This month we spin tracks from Mick Jenkins, Noname, Frank Ocean and Apathy.

Jazz – Mick Jenkins

This guy has style and skills. And most improvidently, heart. He’s only 26 with a very good future in front of him. The Chicago rapper is singed to Cinematic Music Group and dropped his debut album,, The Healing Component in the fall of 2016. Hip Hop is in good hands with a kid like this around.

Yesterday – Noname

I really enjoy Noname. I wish there were more female emcees like her around. She definatly can out-rhyme most female rappers in the game today. Her whole album Telefone is worth a listen.

Moon River – Frank Ocean

I listened to this around 20 times in one day. The track, much like the original, reaches no climax, perhaps like his own love and dedication to us in the near future, the track idly and cooly drifts onwards  An overdue audio version of the elusive.

I Keep On – Apathy feat. Pharoahe Monch (prod. Pete Rock)

It’s always refreshing to hear production from one of my all time favourite producers – The chocolate boy wonder himself, Pete Rock.  If you’re the mood of good old fashioned scratch-scratch Hip Hop, you will really enjoy Apathy’s latest effort.  The Widow’s Son dropped March 2 and features tracks with M.O.P, and Celph Titled.
