The Second Season of Stranger Things is Here, and so is the Synthy Soundtrack

Stranger Things have nailed it again with a whopping 34 new tracks from the second season soundtrack. This season, the first 10 tracks are much brighter than the breakout season. It’s a curious take on the same synth patches from the original. 

Darker and weirder

The sophomore outing has officially dropped. The second season started Friday on Netflix. The Michael Stein and Kyle Dixon follow-up will feature 34-tracks and mirror the first season’s synth heavy style. “Darker and weirder” while the band has been understandably tight-lipped about their work on the show. They did reveal that they’ve been working off the director’s final cut of the episodes rather than going by scripts and artwork.

 “In Season 2 we’re introducing new styles of composition, while still revisiting old themes when appropriate,” Dixon and Stein previously said in a statement. “We’ve created new elements that are necessary to support the story, but still want to remain true to the sound of Season 1.”

As a bonus Eggo,  Dixon and Stein also made a bonus Halloween album that will only be available as part of the Apple Exclusive Deluxe Edition of the album.
